100 km great barrier to takapuna swim

The   Mission

and   Goal

Between the 23rd of February and the 6th of March the team of five swimmers will embark on the Great Barrier Challenge. Ian Jones, Karim Rostami, Rick Wells, Richie Hart, David Mitchell will swim a total of 100km from Great Barrier Island to Takapuna Beach in order to raise money for St John.

The team anticipate that it will take around 24 hours to complete the challenge. They will act as a relay team, swapping in for one another at different times of the swim and through the night.

Our  Reason

The team of 5 philanthropic individuals are performing a meaningful challenge for a meaningful cause and are raising money for St John New Zealand. St John has been supporting the community for 160 years. They are struggling financially to maintain their people and resources. It is now time for the community to give back to St John. St John has played a role in several of the teams lives, so wanting to give back and pay it forward is a huge part of there mission.

Help St John.jpg

With your help our goal is to raise funds to purchase two of the ten St John 4WD Volkswagen First Response Units (FRU) required for Rural New Zealand.
